Win £300 for Christmas!

‘Tis the season to be merry’ and Purdy and Baz are getting into the festive spirit! No more buying Christmas pressies online – where’s the fun in that? No, this year they are going to shop local and enjoy Colchester!

Purdy’s already checked out what’s on and there is so much choice, what should she do?

Her trip to town must include a stop at Willie Gee’s Chrimbo window;  she missed the opening on the 17th.

The 30 November sounds like a great date to make a day of going into town with a secret vintage fairSanta and Mrs Claus in Culver Square and the Christmas lights being turned on in the High Street, Culver Square and Lion Walk at 17:30.

Then there are other opportunities to buy some unique gifts, with a Rotarian Shopping Spectacular in the town hall on the 26/27 November and a Christmas fair in the High Street on the 8 December.

Still a kid at heart, Purdy hasn’t counted out a visit to Santa. He will be at W&G’sColchester Zoo, and Hollytrees Museum during December, she’s not sure she will persuade Baz to join her!

She’s happy to have any excuse to delve into the delights of the independent shops in Sir Isaacs walk, Crouch Street, North Hill and surrounding streets. You can find some of them on the Support Independent Colchester website.

From the 4 December there is late night shopping every Wednesday, with free parking from 3pm.

Then there are all the Christmas pantos, theatre and shows, should she go to Sleeping Beauty at the Mercury, or Cinderella at Charter Hall;  or the Garrison’s Christmas show? Baz likes the sound of the Jingle Bell Rock at Headgate theatre!

There is probably more, but Purdy’s head is reeling from the choice! If you know something exciting happening in Colchester this Christmas that Purdy hasn’t covered,  let us know!

Purdy and Baz are going to be making a few trips into town and of course they will car share and take advantage of the Christmas parking offers. They even plan to take the bus on a late night shopping night, so they can also go out for a meal and enjoy a few drinks.

How are you going to get into Colchester for this year’s festivities? If it’s going to be by car, could you make your drive in greener?

Tell us below and we will enter you into the Loveurcar FREE prize draw to win £300 in time for Christmas, plus you can have a FREE funky loveurcar sticker for your car.  Free prize draw closes 15 December 2013.

Have a great Christmas!

This competition is now closed, thanks to everyone who entered.
